EPF Nepal in coordination with World Bank Funded Government’s Fund Development Board has initiate 3 types of WASH programs in Dhading district; New Schemes, ODF/PostODF and renovation and Reconstruction.
1. New Schemes
Rural Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation program
EPF Nepal in coordination with World Bank Funded Government’s Fund Board has initiated the rural water and sanitation program in 7 schemes in different VDCs of Dhading from 2015 to 2017 Rural Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation program fund development board has supported to run this project. EPF Nepal has got the responsibility of 7 schemes consisting of the VDCs namely Dhola, Jyamrung, Kalleri, Gumdi, Katunje, kalleri and Benighat VDCs.
Prefeasibility Survey Completed (from 17 Nov to 2 Dec 2015)
Pre feasibility survey has been completed and the survey report has been submitted as the first phase of the program. EPF Nepal is the implementation organization for four schemes to complete the water project. For pre feasibility survey, Er. Ms. Sushmita Khadka from technical field and Mr. Nabaraj Timalsina from Social scientist were recruited from EPF Nepal. They visited the respective field and submitted GIS information and report to the FUND board.
Development Phase ( 6 July – 5 March)
Fund board and EPF Nepal did agreement on 22 Ashad 2073 for the implementation of development phase program. There are all together 19 staff comprising team leader, WASH officer, 2 engineers, accountant, 7 technicians and 7 motivators. The second phase of the program will remain for 8 months which is progressive. The mid term report of Development Phase Program has submitted to Fund Board in which the following activities have been completed so far.

- Social Map
- Detail Survey
- Formation of User Committee
- Training for team leaders, engineers, accountant, consumers committee, women child tap committee, Jagaran Committee etc.
- Healthy Home Survey of schemes house holds
- Detail design estimate
- Spring registration
EPF Nepal got successful to declare ODF in Gumdi VDC and it is processing in Katunje and Jyamrung VDC. The following activities have been done for ODF and Post ODF programs.

3. Rehabilitation and Renovation
Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Orientation Program (From 21-22 Jan, 2016)
Fund Development Board conducted orientation program from 21 and 22 January 2016 for the selection and rehabilitation of earth quake damaged schemes. EPF Nepal got 25 schemes for reconstruction and rehabilitation in Dhading district. The program was based on conducting survey, responsibilities and role of Fund Board(FB), Community and Supporting Organization(SO), modality Guideline of R and R, budgeting, data collection method, HR Mobilization, reporting and time line. The time line of rehabilitation is maximum 6 months for the minor scheme and 9 months for the major schemes from the date of training.
In the first day, the program was related to implementation modality and guideline, role and responsibility of key stakeholders, scheme identification and primary data collection method, district wise quota discussion.
In the second day, the program was based in consultation with DWASHCC, stakeholders, and damaged schemes, HR mobilization. the orientation program was conducted in 21 and 22 Jan 2016.
Secondary Data Collection
EPF Nepal appointed surveyor Mr. Deepak Pathak for secondary data collection. Mr. Pathak conducted DIWASHCC, DDC and VIWASHCC meeting to get the information of secondary data of 25 schemes of 12 VDCs. Further, he visited respective VDCs and conducted meeting with water and sanitation consumer committee along with VDC secretary. After the field visit and meeting EPF Nepal got the request letter for recovery and reconstruction from local level government VDCs. On the basis of field visit and the request letter from respective VDCs, EPF Nepal submitted secondary data collection report to Fund Board.
After the approval of secondary data from fund development board, EPF Nepal appointed one engineer Ms Sushmita Khadka for primary data collection and one social scientist Nabaraj Timalsina. EPF Nepal did contract with them for pre feasibility survey and they completed the survey and submitted report to the Fund Development Board on June.
For the implementation of the project detail survey has just been going on from which the estimate cost and design will be made. Team Leader Ravi Bhatta and Engineer Akrur Nath Sharma are the responsible persons of this program.
